What is Genix?

Genix is a local tool designed to run on your own machine. It provides tools such as genix-install, genix-rebuild, and genix-render without requiring a Genix account or Genix cloud service.

Does Genix collect telemetry?

No. Genix does not intentionally include telemetry in genix-install, genix-rebuild, or genix-render.

Does Genix require an account?

No. Genix does not require a Genix account.

Does Genix use the cloud?

No. Genix is designed to run locally on your machine. Your configuration and generations remain local.

Where are my configurations and generations stored?

They remain on your local machine. Genix does not require you to upload them to a Genix server.

Does Genix use cookies?

Genix does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or user profiling.

Does Genix track what I do?

Genix does not intentionally track your usage, create user profiles, or collect analytics about how you use the software.

Where do downloads come from?

Downloads use the Gentoo mirrors configured on your system. Those mirrors operate under their own policies.

Do I need an Internet connection?

An Internet connection may be required for downloading packages, dependencies, or other resources from your configured Gentoo mirrors. Genix itself does not require a Genix cloud connection.

Is Genix open source?

Yes. Genix's source code is publicly available through its GitHub repository.

How do I report a bug?

You can report bugs through the Genix GitHub repository's issue tracker. Please do not include passwords, API keys, Wi-Fi credentials, or other sensitive information.

How do I report a security vulnerability?

Do not publicly post sensitive information in a GitHub issue. Use the project's designated security-reporting method instead.

Can I contribute to Genix?

Yes. Contributions, bug reports, documentation improvements, and pull requests are welcome through GitHub.
